The Walt Disney World Resort is renowned for its high quality entertainment. From interactions with imaginatively detailed characters and everything in between, a Disney Park vacation in Florida is pure bliss for those looking for a unique themed experience.

While character encounters and greetings were put on hold when the parks reopened, that hasn’t stopped some of the Disney World characters from entertaining guests at the parks and even at Disney Springs.

Character experiences at Walt Disney World – like this one at EPCOT – are now taking place in a changed format due to measures still in place regarding the continuing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort recently relaxed their policies on physical distancing and wearing masks, but due to rising infection rates, face coverings are now mandatory for all guests in indoor locations again. .

A recently released video – which appears to have been recorded shortly after Disney Springs reopened in May 2020 and face coverings were required for all guests ages 2 and older in all indoor and outdoor locations – shows how a guest sparked a comedic interaction with two stormtroopers at the Disney Resort. Sharing on TikTok, Nick Parker (@mindofgeek) captured the moment.

The video shows a child looking up at the pair of stormtroopers with one of the First Order soldiers saying, “Hey, kid! It is a beautiful face covering. The second stormtrooper then looks at his comrade and responds with a sarcastic response. The stormtrooper said, “You never compliment my helmet,” before walking in the opposite direction.

The hilarious moment has now racked up nearly 900,000 views on the social media site with numerous comments suggesting the stormtroopers were acting like a married couple. Recently, Gaston also caused chaos in the Magic Kingdom after hilariously roasting a guest who asked him on a date. In the absence of comedic interactions with the characters, the animals in Disney’s Animal Kingdom can also provide fun entertainment.

Disney World stormtroopers were at Disney Springs when the parks first reopened after their extended shutdown. The first order was used to help enforce face coverings in outdoor locations.

The face covering information was recently updated with Disney World mandating the wearing of the mask inside the Orlando theme park. According to the Disney World website:

Face coverings are mandatory for all visitors (ages 2 and over) inside and on Disney buses, the monorail and the Disney Skyliner, regardless of their immunization status. This includes at the entrance and at all attractions. Face coverings remain optional for all guests in the outdoor common areas.

A new, highly interactive experience will soon come to Walt Disney World in the form of the Star wars: Galactic Star Cruiser. Based near Star wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Galatic Starcruiser will hopefully create even more vibrant and fun character experiences for visitors.
