Punta Mita, Mexico, spends a day in the sun
On the Pacific coast of the Mexican state of Nayarit is a small, upscale resort community with a rapidly growing population. Punta Mita’s dreamy beach and jungle setting with plenty to see and do has attracted a growing number of remote workers, including many entrepreneurs, in recent years.
Punta Mita is a 1,500 acre private peninsula and upscale gated retreat with relatively affordable luxury real estate prices and an emphasis on rest, relaxation and outdoor activities. It’s safe, modern, and immersed in nature, plus it’s a short flight from the West Coast of the United States.
The sanctuary-inspired luxury residential complex in western Mexico, just outside Puerto Vallarta, has a growing luxury real estate market and many luxury brands, including two Jack Nicklaus branded golf courses and upscale hotels at the Four Seasons, W, St. Regis Punta and the five-star private resort area of Casa Aramara. All of this takes place along a pristine coastline and in its lush interior, which teams up with plants, birds and other wildlife.

Local agents are reporting an increase in demand for housing in Punta Mita over the past year or so, pushing inventory levels to an all-time high. Punta Mita sits at the top of Banderas Bay in the Mexican state of Nayarit. It sits just off the Tepic-Puerto Vallarta Freeway, also known as Riviera Nayarit Boulevard, which goes north to Sayulita, San Blas, and Tepic. Its western, southern and eastern borders are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean and can be reached at the northern end by the Vialidad La Punta and Federal la Cruz de Huanacaxtle – Punta de Mita roads.
