Napa’s Silverado Resort Hires Its First Executive Chef

Patrick Prager has been hired for the new position of executive chef at Silverado Resort and Spa, a 345-room resort in Napa Valley.

“We are thrilled to have Patrick lead our culinary team,” said Todd Shallan, Vice President and General Manager of the resort. “He grew up in Alameda and has over 20 years of distinguished culinary experience in Northern California. His cooking skills, leadership skills and commitment to excellence in his position will be important to Silverado as we strive to further improve this historic property and make it a must-visit destination in Napa Valley.

Prager was previously Executive Chef for Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants and Chef for Paragary Restaurant Group, both based in Sacramento. He also worked for Marriott Hotels.

Earlier in his career, he was a chef at the Cliff House in San Francisco and the Citizen Hotel in historic downtown Sacramento.

In her new job, Prager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort’s dining program, including in-room dining, signature American dishes served at The Grill, offerings at the Mansion Bar, Silverado Market & Bakery and Boost Café, and personalized on-site catering for meetings, weddings and special occasions, according to Silverado.
