Monica Ortiz has been named general manager of Rosewood Baha Mar in Nassau
Rosewood Baha Mar has promoted resort manager Monica Ortiz to general manager. With over 20 years of experience, Ortiz is the first woman to be named General Manager of the ultra-luxury resort as well as sister properties Baha Mar Resorts. Ortiz will oversee all aspects of the property, including the residences, the famed Sense, A Rosewood Spa and the five distinct dining experiences, including the acclaimed Café Boulud The Bahamas.
Originally from the Riviera Maya, Mexico, Monica is a highly respected hotelier with 22 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She began her career in 2000 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company in the reservations department. She was then recruited to be part of the pre-opening team at One and Only Palmilla where she took on various leadership roles during her tenure before joining Rosewood Mayakoba in 2013, first as Director of customer relationships, then promoted quickly. to the room manager. In April 2019, Monica joined Rosewood Baha Mar as Resort Manager.
Monica graduated from Universidad La Salle in Cancun, Mexico, known for its academic excellence and community involvement, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. First in her class, she received great honors as well as the gold medal for excellence.
