SE Group is seeking a Landscape Architect/Hill Resort Designer to join one of our offices in Vermont, Colorado or Utah. Our award-winning landscape architecture team is at the forefront of planning and designing outdoor recreation destinations. And now we’re looking for someone with the chops of leadership and design proficiency to help us manage and grow our portfolio, particularly in the hill station market. Your projects will include mountain resorts and hospitality projects – as well as state parks, campgrounds and community spaces – in some of the finest recreational destinations across the country.

Job Priorities

This position will focus on creating vibrant destinations through master planning, landscape architecture design, and project management of resort and leisure projects.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development of master plan and site-specific design projects from concept development to implementation
  • Facilitate on-site project meetings, design charrettes, project presentations and stakeholder engagements
  • Manage all aspects of multiple projects concurrently, including budget preparation and monitoring, quality and timeliness of deliverables, and communication with clients
  • Contribute to business development initiatives including customer relationship management, lead generation and project proposals
  • Engage in industry thought leadership through publications and panels/presentations

Applicants must have a license and an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited landscape architecture program. Candidates for this position are not required to meet a certain number of years of experience; the most important thing is that you can to prove your experience serving resort or hospitality communities, your entrepreneurial spirit and your keen sense of design.

Other skills and experience required include:

  • Excellent hand drawing skills and ability to communicate ideas graphically
  • Proven success in managing teams (scope, fees, schedule staff) on medium to large landscape architecture projects
  • Solid experience in construction documentation and administration
  • Experience contributing to project proposals, marketing or business development
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, ArcGIS, Revit, ArcGIS and SketchUp
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; experience leading public presentations
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Interest in leading a team and mentoring junior staff
  • Understanding of the mountain resort industry

Although we primarily operate in a remote work environment, being able to meet, collaborate and socialize in the same space is essential to our team dynamics. Candidates for this position may be based within a reasonable driving distance of one of our three offices in Burlington, VT, Frisco, CO or Salt Lake City, Utah.

  • As per Colorado law, the expected salary range for this position is between $80,000 and $110,000, depending on qualifications, experience and placement.
