Kenya tops World Travel Awards winners in Africa and Indian Ocean | New

In a fiercely contested category, Vakkaru Maldives was named “The Indian Ocean’s Leading Resort”, while Velaa Private Island in the Maldives won “The Indian Ocean’s Leading Private Resort”.
In the newcomer categories, the Radisson Hotel & Convention Center, Johannesburg was voted “Best New Hotel in Africa” ââand “Best New Resort in the Indian Ocean” at “Anantara Maia Seychelles Villas”.
In the aviation sector, Kenya Airways won both âAfrica’s Leading Airlineâ and âAfrica’s Leading Airline – Business Classâ, Cape Town International Airport won âAfrica’s Leading Airportâ, while Air Seychelles won âIndian Ocean’s Leading Airlineâ.
The findings follow a year-long search for the world’s top travel, tourism and hospitality brands.
Votes were cast by travel industry professionals and the public, with the nominee receiving the most votes in a category designated as the winner.
