Beaches Turks & Caicos is pleased to announce the recent promotion of seven of its local leaders to higher positions within the Organization.

The island’s former road supervisor, Ms. Sandra Been, has recently been promoted to destination manager. In this new role, Ms. Been will be responsible for supervising and managing all staff, managing relationships with local tour operators, recruiting new innovative local tours as well as managing and maintaining current tours.

Sandra was first employed at Beaches Turks & Caicos in February 2004 as the Tour Desk Manager. When asked what she thought of her new role, Sandra said; “I’m both nervous and excited about the new challenges that come with my current position. My goal is to keep my customers happy and to always do my best.

Mr. Sheldon Wilson has been promoted to Executive Assistant Director. He previously held the position of Village Manager (Key West Village). Mr. Wilson will be responsible for assisting the General Manager in the day-to-day operations associated with the management of the station.

Sheldon has completed Leadership Action Training – Fullerton Management Training Group, Guest Services Professional Certification – American Hotel and Lodging and Sandals Certified Management Specialist training. Sheldon joined BTC in 2013 as a night auditor and was promoted to night manager and party manager soon after.

“I am extremely excited about this promotion and look forward to taking on my new role as Executive Assistant Manager and contributing to the tourism industry while ensuring that Beaches Turks & Caicos remains the resort number 1 family car in the world!” Mr. Wilson said.

Ms. Owenta Coleby has been promoted to Director of Human Resources. She started at BTC in 2018 and previously held this position until it was formalized in 2022. Ms. Coleby is now responsible for the day-to-day planning and execution of strategic HR functions for the complex, in addition to oversee recruitment, retention, employees. engagement and wellness strategies. She will also collaborate with the learning and development team, as well as “people” leaders to develop and execute our “people” development strategies.

A key part of his responsibility is to facilitate a harmonious relationship with team members and external stakeholders through effective communication. This allows company management to effectively communicate the goals and objectives of the organization, which will allow team members to perform to the best of their abilities.

Owenta is currently completing her Masters in Human Resource Management and Development and is a Certified Recruitment and Compliance Specialist

Ms. Christelle Demosthene-Heron has been promoted to wedding manager. She previously held the position of assistant wedding manager after joining BTC in 2002 as a waitress, hostess and then supervisor. In her new role, she will be responsible for wedding planning, staff development, wedding coordination and execution, tracking and reporting.

Christelle is a Certified Hospitality Department Trainer, Certified Wedding Planner, Certified Event Manager and Certified Hospitality Supervisor. She also received her hospitality certification from the Global University for Life Long Learning.

I learned, I grew and I persevered as an individual and as a professional,” said Ms. Demosthene-Heron.

Ms. Sandra Lightbourne has been promoted to Director of the Executive Office. She previously held the position of Executive Administrative Assistant after joining BTC in 2013 as an Administrative Assistant.

In her new role, she will be responsible for the effective and efficient management of the administrative department which provides support to the General Manager, Hotel Managers, Operations Manager and Village Managers.

Handle guest complaints and special requests, internal travel arrangements and liaise with Sandal Resort International head office. She has received certifications in customer service, sales and marketing.

Mr. Alpheus Pinder has been promoted to the position of village director. He previously served as Night Manager since joining in 2019.

Mr. Pinder has many years of tourism experience in the Turks and Caicos Islands as well as the Bahamas.

“I couldn’t be more excited to be promoted to Village Manager. I have enjoyed every second here at Beaches Turks and Caicos and look forward to more success in my future,” Mr. Pinder said.

Ms. Kanora Seymour has been promoted to the position of departure lounge manager. She previously held the position of reservations agent since joining in 2013. In her new role, she will be responsible for coordinating the transportation of guests to and from airports, as well as managing relationships between local taxi drivers. , VIP transport drivers and beaches. Turks and Caicos Islands.

“I am honored to receive the opportunity to serve as the Departures Lounge Manager at Beaches Turks and Caicos. I intend to excel in this role as I did in my previous role,” Ms Seymour said.
