A Blackpool vacation apartment company is toasting the stay boom with dozens of new jobs announced and a brand new cafe.
Blackpool Resort has created 24 new jobs since March 2021 and now plans to further expand its property portfolio due to strong demand for family housing in the city.
The company recently obtained an operating license for its Blackpool Resort Coffee Lounge, located next to its Reads Court apartments, just off Central Drive.

Company bosses say the cafe is a safe, calm and relaxing space where guests can enjoy drinks and other refreshments, as well as bespoke alcohol packages that guests can consume at their property during their stay. stay.
Mark Brockbank, Managing Director of Blackpool Resort, said: “Attendance at Blackpool has reportedly increased 120% this summer and the demand for self-catering accommodation like ours has exploded, so these are exciting times for us.
“All of our properties are within walking distance of our Blackpool Resort Coffee Lounge and therefore being able to offer alcoholic beverage options has allowed us to create a relaxing space for guests to enjoy both during the day and on evening, while the accommodation drink packages allow us to offer something a little more personalized than what you would get with a typical independent property.
The company offers three and four-star accommodation for families and couples in 60 self-catering apartments and eight houses.
During peak holiday months, Blackpool Resort welcomes 340 guests each day.
Mark, who had a 20 year career in hotel management prior to his current role, said: “We had six direct employees employed in March of this year and now we have 30. The company obtained its premises license with the help of the Recreation and Licensing team at Harrison Drury law firm.
