Avoid Disney’s early tee shots with this simple hack
If you’re staying at a Walt Disney World hotel, the worst thing you can experience is having to check out! Being in the Disney bubble is a positive experience for many and gives them another chance to experience the magic. When you have to leave, it often means your vacation is over, so customers like to take advantage of every last minute.
Lately many have complained about being knocked on their door on their day of check out at early hours like 8am by housekeeping even though check out is at 11am. Although housekeeping never kicks you out from your room earlier, they are just checking if you have already left as they have to go around the rooms in a short time for incoming guests.

During a previous stay at Disney’s Gran Destino, we also experienced a similar situation. At 8:00 am we were woken by a knock on our door by housekeeping; after noting that we would be there until 11:00, another Cast Member then asked if we were leaving only an hour later at 9:00. At 10:00 a.m. a housekeeper came into our room without knocking, assuming we had left.
It looks like the continued demand for Disney resorts must be very high, as Disney does its best to quickly release its hotel rooms to new guests. Unfortunately, this sometimes means they have to allow their guests to feel kicked out of their room earlier than expected. However, with check-in being at 4:00 p.m., it appears that letting guests enjoy their rooms until check-out would give housekeeping another five hours to get the rooms back. With hotel rooms being rather expensive at Walt Disney World, that early morning wake-up call from your last day of magic might not be the end you wanted to your vacation.

As for departure times, here’s what The Walt Disney World website states:
Check-in is at 4:00 PM for Disney Deluxe Villas and 3:00 PM for other Disney Resort hotels. Departure time is 11:00 am.
When you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel, go to the front desk and we will provide you with all theme park tickets included in your Disney Resort hotel package, even if it is before the standard check-in time.
We are very aware that the first shots are not the housekeeper’s fault, as they only do the job that Walt Disney World asks of them. But, there is a way to avoid hitting altogether!
If you call reception and alert them when you plan to leave, they will pass a note to the housekeeping staff not to knock until after that time. We tried this on our last visit, and it seemed to work just fine, so this might be the answer for anyone wanting to soak up every last second of Disney magic on their last day at the hotel. . It should be noted that this does not always work perfectly and messages may not be communicated correctly every time. Please never show anger or aggression at the knocking Cast Member, they are just doing what they have to!
