  EastSide Centre and the City of East Peoria areseeking a new leader for the indoor gym and fitness facility at the sports complex. The Fitness Manager oversees the day-to-day operations of the facility's gymnasium, indoor track, recreational areas, workout areas, classrooms, and subordinate staff members. The Fitness Manager oversees all indoor programming, group exercise and Tae Kwon Do classes, personal and athletic training, fitness equipment, and areas of usage by members and guests alike. The Manager acts as a direct liaison between the EastSide Centre fitness staff and its’ fitness center members and guests.Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the ability to develop marketing plans for the fitness center including the development of new programs, putting an emphasis on increasing membership sales, maintaining community branding, and creating a satisfying customer service experience for all members.A bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Physiology, Physical Education, or a related field is preferred. Can be substituted with extensive experience in a similar position and with a certification in the following: ACE, ACSM, Cooper, AFFA, NCSF, NSCA, or CSCS. The anticipated pay range is $50,000-$60,000 annually DOQE. A minimum of two to three years’ management experience is preferred. A percentage of membership sales and/or personal training may be negotiated in salary. Must possess excellent organizational, oral, and written skills. Successful completion of a background check and drug screen required. Residency within 25 miles is a requirement. This position will require working some evenings, weekends, and some holidays.   Congratulations to East Peoria Police officer Patrick Patterson (pictured in the center) who was promoted to the rank of sergeant during a swearing-in ceremony April 17 at City Hall. Sgt. Patterson has been a member of the EPPD for 13 years, hired in November 2010. He has worked on drug investigations and is also a field training officer. Among those on hand to congratulate Sgt.   Vehicle Maintenance/Mechanic - Employment Opportunity!The City of East Peoria Public Works Department is seeking a Vehicle Maintenance Worker/Mechanic. This position is responsible for managing all aspects of maintaining the vehicles and mechanical equipment of Must have thorough knowledge of automotive mechanics and ability to repair gas/diesel engines and all types of other equipment. Welding experience is a must. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from high school diploma or GED equivalent. Hands on experience working in a heavy equipment repair and maintenance setting repairing large dump trucks, excavators and other related construction equipment, solid waste vehicles, police vehicles and fire response equipment. Applicant must have performed the above work for a minimum of 4 years.Applicant must provide their own power tools of sufficient capacity and variety to facilitate repairs and perform maintenance.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Formal training in diesel and gasoline engines, any applicable ASE certifications, vendor specific certifications from MACK, Cummins, International, CAT or equivalent is a must. Specialized training in other heavy equipment repair and maintenance areas is a plus.Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Illinois CDL Class C License with endorsements, and a safe driving record along with a valid IL DL.
